To submit, please email two photos, one of you in your uniform, and one all grown up. By the way, when you submit, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions. Thank you for being a law abiding adult.
Name, School, Year, City, State (I won’t track you down and will not send you Nielsen surveys — they still have those? Yes. Your info just gives your story more color).
Please answer:
Did you like wearing a uniform or not? Why?
The times you didn’t have to wear a uniform (weekends, etc) did you run through the streets screaming? Out of sheer joy or sheer panic? Yes? No? Why?
Do you think it was harder to find yourself, figure yourself out because you had to wear a uniform?
How do you think your uniform affected the way you dress now? Do you hate clothes (i.e., wish someone would force you into a button down Oxford) or do you love clothes and can’t get enough of a sample sale? If you’re not sure what a sample sale is, that’s fine. Just tell me how you dress now.
Anything else? Any extra tidbits about your uniform? Catholic school? Do you have a plaid persuasion? These are just to get you thinking.
There’s no right or wrong answer. Send it all in the email.
